Career Fair Highlights
The career fair was attended by over 500 students, with many more interested in attending but unable to do so due to time constraints. The event was held in the Student Union Building, which was transformed into a bustling hub of activity. Companies represented at the fair included:
- SD Mines’ own engineering and computer science departments

- Healthcare providers like Mayo Clinic and Sanford Health
- Financial institutions such as Wells Fargo and Bank of America
- Networking opportunities with industry professionals
- Exposure to different career paths and job opportunities
- Ability to ask questions and gain insights into companies and industries
- Building relationships with people who can provide guidance and mentorship
- Engineering Student: Emily, a mechanical engineering student, attended a career fair at a local aerospace company. Mines students who do an internship have a job placement rate of 100 percent. And 97 percent of fall semester grads are employed in their field of study.
